Medicare and Private Sessions with a Clinical Psychologist

To maximise equity for all, The Talking Space uses a sliding scale based on household
employment status to determine fees. You will be asked about your household employment as
part of the intake process.

Scale 1 = $240 per session
Scale 2 = $220 per session
Scale 3 = $195 per session

From July 1 2026 the Medicare rebate for eligible patients is $149.05.

The Talking Space does offer bulk billed sessions at times. Please speak to us about whether you might be eligible for bulk billed sessions. Please note that bulk billed session availability is limited and accessing these sessions may mean being placed on a wait list.

NDIS sessions with a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist

  • The Talking Space does not accept Worker’s Compensation, CTP or other Insurance related referrals
  • The Talking Space is not currently able to offer Psychological/Diagnostic Assessments (such as ADHD or Autism assessments)
  • The Talking Space does not provide assessments or reports for court or other legal purposes

Cancellation and Confirmation Policy

The Talking Space has a strict cancellation policy in place to maximise equity of access for all current and future clients. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will incur a 50% fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or non-attendance will incur the full session fee.

First sessions are reserved, but not confirmed until the intake process is completed. Once the online intake forms have been completed, your appointment date and time is secured. If intake forms are not completed by 48 hours prior to a first appointment, and no contact has been received by The Talking Space, the appointment will be offered to clients on our waiting list. The appointment will be cancelled if the appointment is taken by someone else.

The Talking Space’s practice software (Halaxy) sends automated email and text reminders to aid in remembering appointments. However, it remains the responsibility of the client to ensure attendance.

Clients are welcome to contact via phone, text or email to reschedule, cancel, or check an appointment.
